Alan Wright Chairman
Alan Wright is the Regional Office Manager (Interim) for the Independent Development Trust (IDT) that offers programme management and development advisory services for the eradication of poverty to government departments and other development partners. He has over 20 years of programme management experience in countries in Africa and Asia, including over 7 years experience working in conflict countries (Mozambique & Sri Lanka) and implementing cross border projects (Mozambique and South Africa). Alan has degrees from Stellenbosch University in Project and Programme Management for Development, Public and Development Management and certificates in Financial Resource Management, Proposal Writing and Project Cycle Management, Management Organisation, Programme in Research Methodology and Project Management. Alan has been a Board Member of the Lakeside Adventist Hospital Kandy in Sri Lanka, on the management team for the Health Systems Development Unit in SA and a member of the National Consortium of Refugees Affairs in South Africa. As such he has significant experience in fiduciary matters and has held various positions of fiduciary responsibility, including his current position as Regional Office Manager for the IDT.

Andre Marriott Founding Member
Andre’ Marriott is an entrepreneur and keen unraveller of how things work. He loves training and developing the skills of the people who cross our path from the Helderberg basin’s informal settlements. Andre’ has over 15 years experience in the above, combined with a further 20 years experience in Production Management, Training, Product Design & Development in the Corporate Industry. Andre’ also has a Fine Arts Diploma from Ruth Prowse School of Art.

Ruth Marriott Founding Member
Ruth Marriott is an entrepreneur and day dreamer, committed to making the world a happier place in some small way. Ruth uses her love of research, product design and sales to create products that single mothers in the struggling areas of the Helderberg basin can get involved in producing. She has over 15 years experience in the above, combined with a further 15 years experience in Public Relations, Sales & Marketing and New Business Development in the Corporate Industry.
Karen Ross Research, Monitoring & Evaluation
Karen Ross is a sustainability consultant and is involved in the field of community development and building sustainable livelihoods in impoverished communities. She has over 15 years experience working in the corporate sector in various management positions – Computicket, TicketWeb, Moyo Restaurant. She also ran her own business for five years and as such has significant experience in fiduciary matters. She has held various positions of fiduciary responsibility as a member of the TicketWeb executive committee and for the past 17 years as a trustee of a domestic trust.
