The Protea Flower symbolises change and transformation, which is very apt for our beloved country and here’s why.
There are between 1400 & 1600 varieties of this flower that include a wide array of shapes, sizes & colours which is what earned it its name. The Protea, was named by Carl Linnaeus in 1735, after the Greek god Proteus, who could change his form at will, reminding us that we are an adaptable & united nation, regardless of superficial differences.
